Our staff is available to make presentations on abuse prevention to schools, church groups and daycare facilities and other community groups.
We offer the following programs:
- "Safe and Unsafe Touch" is an abuse prevention program presented to children age 3 and older. The program utilizes age appropriate discussion and a coloring book for reinforcement of the discussion.
- "Internet Safety" is a prevention program that we offer for children in grades 1 through 8. This training teaches children how to be safe on the internet and avoid online predators.
- The CAC offers quarterly trainings in the Magnolia Room at Lake Sumter State College for professionals in the community who deal with child abuse. These trainings are free of charge and presented by experts in the field of child abuse.
- The CAC also provides free training on how to initially respond to a child abuse case. These presentations are provided by our Child Protection Team and are geared toward First Responders (law enforcement and DCF), local pediatricians and elementary and middle school guidance counselors.
