Financial contributions made to the Lake Sumter Children's Advocacy Center are tax deductible. All donations are used to provide direct services to child victims of abuse in Lake and Sumter Counties. Children can remain in counseling for as long as they need services. They can also leave services and come back whenever a need arises. The CAC does not charge for any of its services to the child victim or non-offending family members.

It is estimated that the average cost of providing therapy to a child victim is $1,000. Your donation of this amount would help us provide needed therapy services for a child victim at no cost to the victim or their non-offending family members. Endowments & Planned Giving

You can leave a legacy of helping hands for our children by contributing to the funding of needed programs for abused children in our community. Your financial adviser can help you decide what is best for you. We ask you to consider helping fund the needed programs for abused children in our community by memorials, bequests, insurance, stocks and bonds, living trust, charitable remainder annuity trust, real estate, securities or a contribution to our endowment fund.

Become a Bids 4 Kids Sponsor

Each spring the Lake Sumter Children's Advocacy Center holds its annual fundraiser called "Bids 4 Kids" to raise operating funds for the entire year. The event is an invitation BBQ with a silent and live auction and we recognize corporate and private sponsors. We offer four levels of corporate (or private) sponsorships each year, as well as the opportunity to Sponsor a Child.

Our volunteers are very important to us and the work that we do at the CAC. Unfortunately, due to the confidential nature of our work, we have limited volunteer opportunities, related only to the following areas:

• We utilize volunteers during the Christmas season to help prepare for our Children's Christmas Party.
• We also occasionally have a need for part time help with receptionist and office duties.
• We are seeking dedicated volunteers for our Victim Advocate Program.

When you purchase a "Stop Child Abuse" license plate, you help publicize the need to stop child abuse while supporting every CAC in the state of Florida. Our CAC receives a portion of the funds for every license plate purchased in Lake and Sumter Counties. The "Stop Child Abuse" tag costs an additional $25, all of which goes to child abuse prevention and intervention programs in Florida. Order this tag when it's time to renew! The best way to purchase the "Stop Child Abuse" tag is to contact your local tax collector's office. Purchase your "Stop Child Abuse" tag now or at the time of your renewal.

We greatly appreciate donations of items used for child therapy sessions and the daily operations of the CAC. In addition, we are always looking for sponsors to help with our office supplies and routine maintenance. Our day-to-day "wish list" includes the following items:

• children's books
• coloring books and crayons
• cookies or crackers for snacks
• juice boxes
• new craft supplies (poster paints, crayons, construction paper, children's scissors, glue sticks)
• tissues, paper towels and toilet tissue
• children's movies on DVD

We are always seeking items for our Bids 4 Kids Annual Fundraiser silent and live auctions, such as gift baskets, gift certificates or other items suitable for auction.
